Hi,
We need an advice.
Our system is:EP6 SP17 on Unix.
We want to use webdav from a Windows machine(automatic application that
will use network place) to replace everyday on the KM(Unix machine)
nearly 12,000files(900mb), these files will be indexed by the TREX.
Do you think it's good idea?
Do you see any problems that could appear?
In the case it is not a good solution could you give me an alternavtive
(we prefer don't use FSDB and Portal drive)?
Thank you,
Pino.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Pino,
I don't think that this is a good idea.
If you work with WebDav using standard Windows network drive for just some hours, you'll get mad.
The WebDav client within windows file browser is definitely buggy. Try some dedicated WebDav client software (again: why not Portal Drive?).
And please consider performance when uploading this amount of data to KM.

Andreas

You can try, but I doubt that the Windows client is robust enough (as far as I recall, it has a memory leak...).
The better solution probably would be to use a custom tool doing WebDAV, a generic command line client, or Portal Drive (what's wrong with that...?).
Best regards, Julian
