Hi,

XI adapter is used for communication via direct XML with a party using the PCK.

But PCK includes File, JDBC, JMS, SOAP, RFC and IDOC adapters. So it is like that PCK converts its messages through either of above adapters to XML and these XML messages are again transferred (i.e communicated ) to Integration Engine through XI adapter ??

Please clarify the same

Hi Palnati,

What you have assumed is correct. The PCK uses these adapters and convert them to XML messages and vice versa on the reverse scenario.

The XML message is communicated from PCK to XI and from XI to PCK in reverse scenario using XI adapter.

The PCK (Partner Connectivity Kit) is a solution provided by SAP for companies who wants to communicate with another company that have SAP XI but don’t want to install their own SAP XI, basically it’s an installation of an small SAP XI system with most of the functionality disabled and it is used as an endpoint for message transfer between the organization with XI and the partner company.

Basically I want to know how communication(in what format) happens between PCK and XI...............Plz stick to the point. Preferably if you can explain without links ....it is highly appreciated.

PCK is meant for understanding XML messages sent by XI from the other company. Is this what you are looking for?
