QA Testing Scenario - IDM

Hi Guys,

I would like to ask for some of your insights on this matter. We are improving our IDM ways of working and as part of it we would want to have a complete same scenario of what we have in Production to our Pre-Prod environment. So with this, I am proposing the below config be done:

1. We create a new identity store in Pre-Prod which is a copy of what we have in Production.

2. We do a client copy of production instance on the equivalent of their pre-prod instance. (say a new client YYY which is just a complete copy of what we have in production).

3. We do a sync of the IS in #1 with the new pre-prod instances from #2.

Some key points on this proposal:

1. We have dead mx_pending _values in production, which we want to get rid but the housekeeping procedures that process pending values is having a NULL value (which means we need to re-run it or we upgrade to the next patches). So we want a solid foundation for the testing.

2. We have really right now a poor testing scenario that we want to improve, considering we are looking in upgrading to 8.0 in the near future we want to establish a better testing scenario.

3. We use Pre-Prod IDM to provision for Pre-prod system as well. Same goes for QA and Dev.

My questions are:

1. Do you think the proposal is good enough? Or you have better idea to tackle this testing scenario.

2. Can you please share your project testing scenarios? If it is okay to. :)

Thanks a lot!

All the best,
