Freight Costing

Hi All,

I will appreciate if someone can through some light on Freight Costing involved in SAP SD.

will appreciate quick responses.

In SAP, if we implement shipment module then we can capture the shipment cost, which will be more or less similar to Freight Cost.

Alternatively, 'Z' development can be done to arrive at the freight. The logic for the same will be as as under: City of despatch can be arrived from Plant. City of receipt can be derived from Ship to Party (Here there is a limitation that it is a text field, hence it is recommended to maintain City Region wise in an 'Z' Table & we can have a drop down based on region). This is an ideal methodlogy to calculate freighr rate. you will have to check various permutation & combination as the development will be an complecated development.

Alternatively calculate freight manually & punch the same value manually in billing document.

Freight Costing is not there in SAP

best. u will create the new condition type for Freight Costing,and adding to the ur business scenarioo based on calculation type.

Hi Laxman, If there is no Freight costing in SAP the why do you have the conditions HD00 (at header level) and KF00 (at Item level). Please throw some light.

Frieght is a cost which is involved in Shipping material from shipping point to SHip-to-Party and this is captured as a shipment cost. the condition type which we can use to represent frieght cost is KF00.
