Hi,

I am using the extended notification for my customized user decision task to send mails in outlook. e problem is, I am having one URL in the task description of user decision task. I am getting the same link in outlook as a normal text format not hypertext. How to get the URL in outlook mail through extended notification of workflow.URL link is working fine when workitem opens in sap inbox but problem is when sending task description to outlook mail using extended notification URL link shows as plan text.

Can you guide me to get active URL link in outlook mail from sap

Thanks in advance

Ramesh Babu

I think there may be an Outlook setting whether to show hyperlinks. Make sure there are spaces or line breaks on either side of the URL so that Outlook can recognise it.

Also check your sending format, if it's plain text then you're definitely relying on Outlook to do the hyperlink conversion. If it's HTML then it may be something you can adjust in SAP.

Hi RB,

I had similar issue in Activity>Task. Few things I did were:

I used '/:' statement in task description.

In SCOT following settings were done.

scot.png

and my code had HTML tags.

Hope it helps.

Hi Ramesh,

I have tried HTML tags and have achieved them. Where and how are you coding the tags, can you give more hints. I feel its a small issue somewhere you might have missed something.

Hi Aditya,

I wrote HTML tags in task description correct only because they are showing proper active links in

SBWP , I can open link from workitem display here problem is while sending same task description

to outlook mail links are showing as plan text(not active links) and I told you already I wrote HTML tags different formats also not working .My SAP version is 4.6 I guess and version issues causing this problem?

Thanks

Ramesh

Hi Ramesh,

Same issue I had where in SBWP links are shown, in outlook it isnt. How my issue resolved, in SCOT settings if you know there is an INTERNET node, if you click there are various options where you can select PDF, TXT, HTM.

So I had selected HTM wherever I wanted and things worked.

Hope it helps.

Make sure the format of the email that you are sending to the outlook is HTM type. I assume you might be using some kind of SO_* function module to send the emails to out look.

Thanks, Pavan
