Batch shelf life and date of manufacturing

We have error while doing GR(101) which asks for shelf life and DOM on MIGO screen.

The plant for which we are receiving material has shelf life check activated. Also material master has Min. Remaining shelf life maintained. So we understand that this is standard system behavior. But the question is this error has started to appear from last month. The configuration and material master has been same for an year now. Postings done in last month didn't encounter this error. But now we are facing.

Same goes with date of manufacturing. Material master has total shelf life maintained so again it's expected by system to ask date of manufacturing. However, for this case as well system allowed postings in last month but only this month.

There are no changes done to material master, batch master and configuration. We would like to know why system allowed postings in last month but now it's throwing the expected error.

Is this happening for all materials concerned

Was there any recent system upgrades

Check if any changes happened in Material Master by looking into Display Changes

Check if "Period Ind. for SLED" is changed in Plant/Data1.

Most importantly, are you using any Customer Exit to calculate SLED.

Yes, this is happening for all materials.

We had upgrade in the month of March. System allowed 101 movements with no SLED/DOM in month of April. And system is now blocking these movement in month of May.

No changes done to material master in entire year.

No custom objects involved.

isn't the question simply: is the error wrong or is it right? and what error do you actually have?

If the error message is justified then I would not bother why it did not come up in the past. Eventually there was a program bug which was fixed but you had never implemented the OSS note, and now with the upgrade you automatically got the right program code.

If the error is not justified then you should search for OSS notes, most efficient by using the error message number as search term. If you don't find any then open an incident at SAP Support and explain them that this was caused by the upgrade.
