Hi,

I want to control the number of quantity sold to a ship to party for a particular material in a month.

Ex: Management decides to sell only 50 cs/pc of XXXX material to a ship to party YYYY in a month because the material is in demand and is required by all other customers.

Now when the sales man is entering this material in sales order he enters as 60 cs/pc. System should pop up a message for the additional quantity of 10 cs/pc. And this should go for approval of some manager. If i approves then it should allow him to change in sales order other wise it should stop him.

Product allocations would be considered during the ATP check but I don't think the popup and workflow functionality you are referring to is a standard feature, so a custom development would be needed. See here for a description of allocation checks during sales order creation.

+1. Although "should allow to change" / "should stop" is not exactly how a workflow approval works, i.e. the order needs to be actually saved to trigger a workflow, it does not happen on the fly. Exactly what OP is describing is pretty much not feasible.

Dear Prasanna,

I don't think there is a standard way of achieving this functionality. You need to go for development/enhancement to make this work.

Quantity contract feature will solve your need. for example create quantity contract for that customer 50 quantity, till that quantity system allows the user to place the order, once the reference qty is completed system throws a message
