CR11 Printing preferences

In CR11, the customer has created two printers both using the same latest Toshiba PCL6 Universal print driver pointed at the latest model Toshiba e5005AC (50 cpm color copier) with latest firmware installed.

The copier has four paper trays and black only printing is the default preference.

The main print driver is set to black only and pull Letter/A4 paper from Tray 1.

The second printer driver is what we call a receipt printer. It is set for black paper printing and to pull pre-printed Letter/A4 invoice paper from Tray 3. This works A-OK.

The problem is that the main print driver despite multiple attempts to set the printing preferences to Black continues to revert to Auto allowing unwanted, high volume, higher cost color printing.

We have set the printer in black on both the Printing preferences and the Advanced tab before pushing out the driver to a large workgroup in a municipal govt.

The legacy printers replaced were both HP and Kyocera.

The customer has many years worth of accumulated files and cannot open each file to change its properties.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Derrick,

CR 11 has been out of support for a long time now. See if upgrading to CR 11.5 resolves the issue.

Use your CR 11 keycode to install it.

If that does not work only option is to update to CR for VS .NET.

It has the ability to select paper trays in code.

I have passed your response onto the municipal gov't. They are unable to upgrade their current version of CR11.

Does the CR11 application override any printing preferences made in the print driver?

Thanks,

The print drivers are being deployed from a server in a Citrix environment to client workstations. We suspect that as each session is closed, CR11 does not refresh the printing preferences.
