Hi

The important elements of a good Config Document (for each Config element) are:

1. Use

2. Prerequisites

3. Procedure

4. Screen Shots

An extract from a good config doc is reproduced below:

Maintaining Storage Locations for Plants

Use

A Storage Location is the place where the physically materials are kept within a plant.

Prerequisites

Plants must have been created.

Procedure

1.To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:

a.Transaction Code OX09

b.IMG Menu: Enterprise Structure ->Definition ->Materials Management ->Maintain Storage Location

2.System will give a popup screen where in system will ask for a Plant for which you want to define Storage Locations.

3.Please input the value XXXX in the Plant field, and press Enter to continue.

4.Click on New Entries pushbutton to create new Storage Locations.

5.Similarly do for the other plants.

Finally Paste the screen shots.

The audience for the config doc is the respective (MM, FI, etc) consultant from the Client's team.

Thanks

Hello R. Dillibabu,

It is good to have the following information in Configuration document

1. Business Requirement

2. Possibilities for SAP solution

3. Details of Configuration done

4. What other things will impact i.e. Ztable updates, other important updates

As a consultant, we need to try to document even small configuration also (however it is not possible during project so we it can be done later).

This document will be guide for Configurator as well as it will be helpful when it comes to Transition and support team.

The audience for this configuration document will be Project team, Support team, not much useful for business guys.

Hope this helps.
