I would like to ask when I need to perform "Generate Fonts" in SE73 for my printer fonts. One day, we suddenly noticed that ALL our SAPSCRIPT forms using custom fonts were not being displayed properly. They were replaced to a default different font style. This caused overlapping of the text and change in layout.
The issue was resolved when we performed generate fonts but we would like to avoid encountering this major incident in the future.When we tried to check all transported changes and checking all history, we could not identify what was the root cause of this.
What is the intended reason for the function "generate fonts" and how can we simulate this scenario again? Is this related to printer configuration changes ?
