Hello SAP Community,
I would like to install Solution Manger 7.2 on Linux with Oracle12c as database.
Can you please guide me through how Oracle software should be installed, giving the fact that with Solman 7.2 there are 2 separate systems one ABAP and one Java?
Kind regards,
Dalmy
Hi tvirseda,
Good day!
As far as I know, you have two options in installing oracle db for solman 7.2.
1. ABAP STACK + JAVA STACK = 1 Oracle DB (which is known as MCOD - Multiple Components in One Database)
or
2. ABAP STACK + 1 Oracle DB and JAVA STACK + 1 Oracle DB
In above options, I used option 1 and I installed it in one server system only using windows OS.
just let me know if you have any more questions and check below link for blogs created by yogesh.patel3 . It's really helpful

Hi Tan Michael,
Thanks so much for your answer. Finally I chose the MCOD installation.
Still installing the ABAP stack. I am finding glitches here and there with the SWPM SP22... the last one was getting a "Unable to fork process. Not enough space sap" while SWPM was trying to start PAS instance... and it was solved by adding em/max_size_MB and em/initial_size_MB parameters to the instance profile... 😕
I'll finish some day 🙂
Thanks again!
Hi there,
Did you finally achieve it? Any suggestion?
Same problem here doing this installation in Solaris.
Thanks in advance
