Avoidance of password expiration for portal UME

Dear all,

we have a EP 6 portal landscape with SPS 17, running on AIX and Oracle 9i. Our portal users are stored on a seperate Sun One LDAP and the Portal User Management is configured to refer to this LDAP.

To avoid unplanned downtimes or other problems we have to configure that the password of the admin-user "J2EE_ADMIN" never expires.

By the way, the parameter ume.logon.security_policy.password_expire_days is set to 90 days and we have keep this value for the normal users.

We have already tried to solve this problem by setting the parameter "No password change required" in security provider service in visual admin. But this setting has no impact to the password expiration, that means that nevertheless the password of J2EE_ADMIN expires.

So the questions are:

1. How can we avoid the password expiration of specific users like J2EE_ADMIN or J2EE_GUEST ?

2. And in general: how does the Portal decide if the password of a user has expired or not ?

Is there an additional internal table on the portal database which stores the individual expiration date for every user ? We have found a LDAP attribute called "passwordexpirationtime" but this contains only a default value for the date (19700101.....).

Thank in advance for any help or hints !

Regards,

Jörg
