Clock Synchronization

I got an error message in our Portal Diagnostic Tool and there is an undefinede status item that clocks are not synchronized between ABAP and Java.

The check says "Synchronized Clocks on WebAS Java and ABAP".

Is there a setting in SAP and a setting in Visual Administrator that has to be set?

Anyone point me to it?

Mike

We just have the system on 1 box.

What is going on is that I had configured the system to use http and was making some landscape changes to use https.

I went back to the diagnostic tool and there was an error message: "Retrieval of WebAS ABAP settings failed". The remedy says to make sure the ABAP coding correction from note 937697 is applied in the latest version available. There's a more recent version attached to note 937697.

There is also another message in the diag tool in a category not red or green but UNDEFINED. That error message is: "Synchronized Clocks on WebAS Java and ABAP"

I never got that error message before and have no idea where to get my sys admin to make changes.

Hi Michael,

Is the Portal installed on a ABAP + Java stack ? Or is it talking about the ABAP Engine of some other SAP System that's connected to Portal ? Can you provide some more inputs on this ?

The time taken is the system time and if you have Portal installed on ABAP + Java stack which is on one box then I believe there shouldn't be a time conflict. It looks like the the message talks about a time conflict between Web AS Java and some other SAP system connected to Portal.

What is the impact of this time conflict ? Is it a show stopper ?

Regards,

Sunil

No, just make sure the time on the Java and ABAP engines is about the same...

Cheers
