when the source system sends only new or changed records to BW,its called a delta update..

the delta records are maintained in a 'delta queue' in the source system..

tcode for delta queue is rsa7..

(before delta updates are started,an init request is sent to BW)

    Hi Venkat,

After Init Data load we do Delta load from R/3 which are nothing but loading new records or changed records. In this case the 0RECORD MODE plays an important role to play.

R/3 lets know whether it is a changed record or new or when a record is to be deleted.

Say in that case 0RECORDMODE sets 'D' indicator to delete the particular records from ODS etc.,

In BW Change log table plays a important role to maintain the logs of changes for ODS etc.,

To check daily delta loads you can go to R/3 Transaction RSA3 and run the extractor. It will give you the number of records extracted. Then go to BW Monitor Transaction RSMO to check the number of records. You can also check the contents in R/3 extractor Vs PSA in BW.

Below are some of the Weblogs /links which can give good idea about Delta and LO Extraction.

    Srinivas.
