failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect on Crystal Reports 2013

the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect on Crystal Reports 2013 is the error message that I'm getting.

There are many posts on this topic, and while there are answers given, no one is reporting back that those answers have worked.

We have added all Visual C++ redistributables for 2005, 2008, 2010 & 2013 both x86 and x64.

Installation was successful on another computer.

    Crystal 2013 requires a specific Microsoft C++ 2005 installation in order to work correctly. Unfortunately, it doesn't include this in its prerequisite checks.

    Specifically, you need the security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package, which you can get from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=5638.

    Since you've already installed Crystal, you have to completely uninstall it and then reinstall it after the C++ redistributable has been installed in order for it to work.

    Have you found a resolution to your question. I am getting the exact same error after installing, reinstalling 2013 Crystal Reports. I have installed 2005, 2008 and 2010 C++ redistrubutables based on other searches in here but still get the same error on a windows 7 PC.

    • Topher,

      See the link in my answer above - you have to have that particular service pack of the C++ 2005 redistributable. Uninstall Crystal before you install C++. Reboot your machine after installing it and then re-install Crystal.
