ESS application issue Approve Clock In / Clock Out

Hi,

The application Approve clock in/out does not launch for 1 specific user. The issue is :

Normal Scenario: When clicked on it launches SAP GUI for HTML and the application works.

For This User : When clicked it opens a SAP shortcut file tx.sap which is to be opened in SAP GUI application.

We have already checked and analysed the roles , permissions and authorisations for the same. Issue is happening on different machines and browsers.

Any inputs would be highly appreciated.

Hi Anirudh

As per the issues that you have mentioned, can you refer to the below KBA 's and follow the resolution section and check if it works for you or not.

2229671 - Configure Chrome to open tx.sap or tx.sapssd automatically

2303213 - WinGUI using Chrome or Firefox browsers doesn't open inside Portal frame

Hi

SAP Note - 2047873 - Transaction iView calls WINGUI instead of WEBGUI

Solution.

Hi Santarshi Samanta ,

We are currently using portal version 7.01 which is not supported with Google Chrome or firefox.

After analysing I have observed that if for this specific user the SAP transaction iview opens with shortcut file to GUI (SAP GUI for Windows)

For all other users it opens in browser ( SAP for HTML).

Hi Anirudh

Many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums on SAP Communities and I hope you are keeping well.

Based upon the scenario that you have described the documentation outlined above by my colleague Santarshi should indeed resolve this scenario and return functionality to normal behavior.

Just an important point surrounding the resolution section it is highly advisable and recommended to ensure that the latest core EP Patch Level Releases are implemented as they often provide a resolution towards easily avoidable issues.

Kind Regards,
