CTBW - Unable to add add't characteristics to datasource 0MATERIAL_ATTR

Hi BW Gurus,

I need your help on this. I need to add additional classification characteristics from the material class (001) to an existing datasource 0MATERIAL_ATTR (1CL_OMAT001) using transaction CTBW. The characteristic I am trying to add is one with the "multiple values" flag checked. I have applied note 350296 to allow extraction of multiple value characteristics (The system supposed to only extract the first of the multiple values).

I am receiving message "Characteristic Y_XXXXXX does not exist" when I tried to add the new entry. I checked and make sure that this characteristic does exist using transaction CL03.

Am I missing someting here? Since the datasource was created using class type 001, Can I pick characteristics from any class within the class type 001. Our system does have multiple classes with class type 001.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
