Update Cube with ODS with DELTA

Hello guys, i'm trying to update a cube from an ODS.

When I load init packages to my ODS, every one of the inicializations were fine.

But now, when i'm trying to make an init inicialitation from the ODS to the Cube with the option Update ODS Data in DATA TARGET the systems said a first warning that says "No new deltas for update in ODS object" I imagine this is because the ODS no have any deltas yet, only the first initialization package with data came from Setup tables.

Then i chose the option Initial Update and it sends me automatically to a package, (i don't know which package is it) and when i try to schedule the package and execute it, it is saying me " DELTAS ALREADY LOADED FOR REQUEST REQU14_PZ6M ......... INIT SELECTION; NO 2 INIT.

WHAT I have to do to initialize the delta method from ODS to CUBE ???

HI,

Hi error you are getting because you are trying ot load data nad there is no data in the underlying ODS.

Just go to the generated data sorce for your ODS which begins with 8........ in the infosource Tab.

Then create an infopackage there and go for init without data transfer and select your data target as cube.

Since you do nat have anay data in the ODS therefore it will just do an init for the from the ODS to the cube.

Also when delta comes into the down ODS just reun a delta from the ODS to the cube.

i don't have any data source generated that begins with 8...... in the infosource tab.

How do I create this data source ???

Hi,

just go to the infosurces tab-> settings-> display generated objects.

It will basically give you ODS name begining with 8.

you have to just create the package there and load it.

you will have to do it everytime you load data from ODS to cube or cube to cube.

always the data source will begin with 8.

Hi Ajeet.

The problem is that i cannot execute the package because it still is saying to me that an initialization is already set, but that's not true the only initialization I have is for the infosources that load data to the ODS, but the load from ODS to Cube is not initialize yet, and i cannot do it.

Hi,

I think when you made the inital update it did an init for you to the cube

just delete the inint from the infopackege you have already created.

go to the scheduler option in infopackage -> initialization option for the source system-> delete the green init. there.

If you cannot found the infopackage then just delete the data from the ODS by "delete data" in the right click option of the ODS.

it will delete any init from the ODS to the cube but init from the source system to ODS will not have any effect.

Then make a new init from the ODS to the cube.

everything will be fine

ok, thank you very much for your help Ajeet, it seems that the cube already has this init, I don't know why, but i already delete the init and i'm going to program a new init from the ODS to the Cube.

Hi,

Just see me reply where I have asked you to delete the data from the ODS as it in your case it just contains one request for init.

See my previous reply.

Also you can find the request in the infopackage which you have created last time but I think you are not abnle to see that package so just delete the data from the ODS and it will allow you to do an init from the cube to the ODS.

Hi Guillermo , seems that your cube is already initialsed ,if u want to initialised the cube again , follow the procedure like:

Go to infoprovider , searhh for the your ODS name but put 8 before the name (eg. if your ODS name is 0fiaa_o01 then u search for 80fiaa_o01).

After getting this ODS got to its info package and and choose manage screen for cube , delete the initialisation from scheduler and initialise it again ..

It will solve your problem if u have further issue then don't forget to post .
