Hi experts,
I am using capacity levelling tool in S4 Hana. My client wants to consider set up time while doing capacity levelling. This is because set up time can significantly vary between two products, depending upon degree of similarity. I have checked below SAP help document which suggest tat set up time is not considered in capacity levelling. Any other way to incorporate that in the total time? Appreciate your response. https://help.sap.com/saphelp_dimp50/helpdata/en/57/0fd616a9de11d183d40000e83235ee/content.htm
Hi Caetano,
Many thanks for your help. We decided to include set up time in the main machine time itself. This is because the machine time is fixed for one batch quantity, which we are considering as base qty. There will be no proportionate increase in machine time if the order qty increases. Rather, the order qty has to be rounded to max batch size by MRP settings.
On the other hand, the set up times change significantly depending upon next product. As of now, we convinced the business to manually change it in the order, just before release. In future, we will create a custom table specifying From-To mapping of product and relevant set up time, the use this table t dynamically change the Hrs in machine time of order, during capacity levelling.
Thanks again:)

Sorry, forgot to mention that I am using SAP-PPPI

Hello
Capacity leveling in PP-PI is quite different than the capacity leveling in PP-SFC.
In PP-PI you don't have different segments to set up and processing and you only have the order duration. My suggestion for you is to create a different phase to represent the setup on your order.
Regards,
Caetano
