Hello Naveen,

How can we provide any assistance since you haven't provided any details ?
No version, no actual error, no workflow, no details on what was backed up and what restored exactly....

If I had to guess - you didn't move your file repository.

What does it mean - "After Restoring Backup into Target System we are unable to find the Data" ?
If your new system is higher version than original system - then backup/restore method will not work.

Sounds like you need to review Promotion management Patter book, from here

Hi Tanveer,

We have Referred that Note.This note refers to standerd Procedures before to perform the task.

We have already completed by using backup/Restore Method In Oracle.But note able to fetch the data.

Moreover We are not able to navigate to CMS Repository also.

We have source is in lower Version & Target is in Higher Version

source is at BO 4.1 SPS 4 & Target is BO 4.1 SPS7.

How are you navigating into the CMS repository?

What data you are not able to fetch?

Are you not able configure the System Database in the SIA>Properties>Configuration tab>

If yes, what is the error you get?

Hi Denis,

Thanks for your Reply.

Please find the Below Information.

==========================

Source System

RHEL 5

Database: Oracle 11.2

Applicaton BO 4.1 SP6 Patch 4

==========================

Target System

OS Solaris Sparck 11.2

Database : Oracle RAC 11.2.0.4

Applicaton : To be installed as same BO 4.1 SP6 Patch 4 as Source

=============================

Task:Due to Datacenter Migration We are using BACKUP/RESTORE Method.

After Restoring Backup into Target System we are unable to find the Data.

The issue may be appearing because you have migrated the database first and then installed the SAP BI pointing to it, so the data has been deleted during the installation/Build time.

I Suspect We need to follow Below Steps

Take a Full Backup of Working BO System As well File System SNAP.

Where in Target System After performing Vanilla Installtion ( BO Same Version as Source).

We Need to Restore after vanilla Installtion on Bo System.

Request to assist me on this.

Hi Jawahar,

Thanks for your answer.Let me how to access the Repository.

[‎5/‎12/‎2017 10:33 AM]

Tools to browse CMS repository

There is tools to view the virtual tables called Query builder

Query Builder

Query Builder is a UI that lets you enter queries and send to the CMS. It returns the results in a UI table format. To use the feature, run "http://localhost:8080/AdminTools/" on a web browser.

The query is like ordinary sql query, see the following example:
Select SI_ID, SI_NAME from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_KIND='Webi'
i will check above process & update you accordingly.

What ever the DB you have, you can use those tools to connect to BO repository. If BO repository is in oracle, use PL/SQL developer or Toad, If you have SQL server, use SQL server management studio etc. Check with your DBA, which tools they use to connect to DB.

can you access BO repository? check if the all the tables have data or not? While restoring it, probably, tables have missing data.
