[BUG] Spinner implementation of May 2nd release stopped refreshing the activities

the spinner appears while going from Activities to Notifications, the page refreshes and new notifications become visible.

For the other way around, form Notifications to Activities, no spinner appears, and no page refresh happens. I have to refresh the activities using the browser refresh function.

This refresh worked well before the spinner was implemented.

Hm. Works well for me. Maybe it's related to current issues with subscriptions(we are working on it)

No I don't think it has anything to do with current problem (which is now solved and still this issue continues), it did not work since the spinner was released, I just hoped someone else would report it and somehow I believed in self healing with the next release, but this did not happen, so I posted it. I will add a video tomorrow night when I am back home.

I am working with Chrome browser, at home and from my office and just tested it with Internet Explorer and have the some result: no spinner and no refresh when switching from Notifications to Activities

You will see that I am staying in activities

I then switch to Notifications, and the spinner is shorty visible and refreshes the listed items in notifications

I then switch back to activities and there is no spinner, still same items.

I repeat this a few times, to show you that the spinner does not appear for activities when coming back from notifications.

Finally I choose the refresh from the browser and you can see that it lists 3 new items

Ah. I see now. I misunderstood you at first. I thought that you don't see any activities at all. Then yes, it's not a desirable behavior - Notification tab click sends AJAX call and Activities doesn't.

Thank you for reporting Jurgen. I have tried doing the same thing on Chrome but my followed activities does not need to be refreshed to see the right activities after clicking activities from the notification tab (but then again maybe I did not receive any new activities there as I do not have many subscriptions). I will keep testing to see if I can reproduce the behavior you experienced so we can investigate further.

I found this resolved today, although it is not mentioned in the recent wiki updates

Yes, you caught it right! The fix was indeed rolled out yesterday. Wiki page will be updated in a short while I am sure. And goes without saying, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.

It is the Activities fix, SOC-5316 mentioned in the release notes.

I would never have imagined.

Anyway, now it spins but does not bring any new activities since 16 hours. I opened already a ticket.
