I have found that delta load and full update from different infopackages are getting loaded into the same data target that is ODS object. when do we go for such situation, can any one explain me in detail or give me some documents to know more about it.
Hi,
You can find both delta and full loads in the infoprovider. For example if you are loading daily delta into ODS, by some problem you have not loaded 3 days delta load, on 4th day you noticed that and now you are in a position not to run repeat delta. So in this case you will run set up tables with selective dates in R/3 and now you can load full load for this particular data. By this way you can find both delta and full loads.
Cheers,
Malli.

Hi dear,
your needs are not so clear...
Could you please explain with some more detail what you need to do ?
Coming back to your subject post, you can have both full and delta on the same ODS, but these loads have to come or from different datasources (not from different infopackages, this doesn't matter) or the full request is flagged as repair request....
"I would like to know if we need to load on 4th day the last 3 deltas"
Sorry ???
Hi Roberto,
i understood from above mails that if we have different source systems of data packages then we will be having different loads like full update and delta update. till this it is clear.
i would like to know if we are doing daily delta and for the past 3 days delta was not run and inorder to get those 3 days delta back what do we need to do on the 4th day. and how do we go about if the extraction is from R/3.
may i know what is repair request, repeat delta?
If you execute a delta on the 4th day, you will receive delta related to the previous days not yet uploaded too, without need to do any specific activity.

Hi,
Here you have to understand 2 ways of unavilability delta data in the cube.
1) past 3 days delta was not run
2) Latest(last) delta was failed .
In the first case you will get all records( 3days) records just by doing delta upload.
In second caseyou have to do repair request delta upload.

Hi,
You have not clearly mentioned that those infopackages are ctrated on the same Datasource or not.
This way of uploading is very common when we need to upload some data from R/3 and some other data from Flat file into the Info cube. And GenerallyFlat file data would not be given in Before image and after image way, thats why we need to do full uplaod. The deleetion of already uploaded flat file data fromt he cube (before new upload from flat file ) depends up on whether the data to be uploaded from flat file system is always new data or not. And generally R/3 Extractor is capable of giving deltas, thats why only delta loads to the cube.

Generally full loads will fetch you whatever the data is there in the source system. Inorder to extract the changes made thereafter u need to initialize the load and then delta loads work. Inorder to automate the process we have something called process chains.
