Multi Country Implementation

Hi SDNites,

I would like to know how the SAP PI interface roll out happen in case of Multi Country scenario. I have below queries,

1.What is global interface and local interface.

2. Will global interface be on a Central adapter engine while local adapter engine is on decentral adapter engine.

3. In case of multi country, do we need to mandatorily have central and decentral adapter engine. If yes or no, what is the reasoning behind it.

4. What is the use of load balancer and web dispatcher.

Any guide to understand the multi country scenario in detail would be of great help.

Regards,

Abhi

    Hi Abhi,

1.What is global interface and local interface.

-->>Global interface is something used across countries and the local interface is used for a specific country.

    2. Will global interface be on a Central adapter engine while local adapter engine is on decentral adapter engine.

-->> it is depend on your system architecture. but there is no general limitation to use specific adapter engine.

    3. In case of multi country, do we need to mandatorily have central and decentral adapter engine. If yes or no, what is the reasoning behind it.

    -->> its not mandatory.

    4. What is the use of load balancer and web dispatcher.

-->> When you have multiple nodes then load balancer forward the request to node which is having less load.

    regards,

    Harish

    Thanks Harish for the response.

As you have mentioned, global interface will be used across countries while local interface is country specific. Can you please advise how will be the architecture of this scenario.

Based on my understanding, we need to have central AE (global interface) and Decentral AE (Local interfaces). Please correct me if I am wrong. Also in case of an interface running locally then how the payload flows from this i.e. Central AE will be called or not when interface being executed using Decentral AE and also how will it be monitored (in Central AE or Decentral AE). (Technically only we need to select the Decentral AE while creating the communication channel).

Also all the interfaces are being built in one PI server and only way we can differentiate is looking at the communication channel that interface is global or local. Also the directories from where the file is to be picked, are these 2 diff physical locations as for the same interface has to be executed for both the countries but data for a specific country has to be secure so should not be sent out of country while processing. Please advise,

    Regards,

    Abhi
