Hi,
In my report (about an ODS) i defined a selection variable from the caracteristic "0material" and i would like to exclude one value of 0Material. I did it (right click and "limit") but now my selection variable is mandatory ..
How could i do without trigger "mandatory" ?
I use Bex 3.5
Thanks
jak
HI Jak,
you exclude that field value at filter in query
and use your variable.
if you don't want mandatory then change it as optional through edit variable.

Sorry but i don't understand.
In the query designer, i defined a caracteristic variable in the "Rows" area, this variable is "optional". But i want to exclude just one value. So i selected "Restric" via a right clic on the caracteristic, and i put the value in "Red color" thanks to the option "exclude from the selection".
Now when i run the report it works .. but the variable of selection began mandatory, and that's a problem...
"Variable ZVVEO1 for characteristic Material has been converted to a required entry"
If you want to exclude that one particular material(fix material number) from your query result. You can set a global filter in your report to exclude it.
or
if you want it the exclusion for one particular material when the user selects it, then you got to create a customer exit variable. And the customer exit you got to change the value to get excluded for that material code.
hope this helps
