Hi there,
I was wondering if there is a way to transport the customizing of a SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 7 to S/4 HANA Enterprise Management in a Greenfield approach.
My understanding is that in a BROWNFIELD approach you prepare the ECC 6.0 EHP (CVI, Material Ledger, new financial ledger, etc.) and then move to S/4 HANA by lift and shift using SUM.
But, if you choose the GREENFIELD approach( because you want to move with less data and want to do data cleansing in the data migration using SAP Data Services) :
Do you have to create the SAP Customizing from scratch or can you transport it from ECC 6.0 EHP 7 to your new S4.
Who knows?
Thanks,
Andrzej
Hi Andrzej,
in the end, Customizing is just table entries - and the greenfield S/4HANA System is just another SAP System.
So I'm pretty sure:
If you identify parts of customizing, that
- you want to have exactly like in the old system
and
- know that the customizing tables are the same (e.g. they still exist, no fields added or removed)
it should be possible to make the necessary entries via transport (instead of manually entering them).
Of course, as always, it's good to try stuff like that in a sandbox first!
best
Joachim
