Hi all,
I am doing an export of a non-unicode MSSQL database now, and I will be importing the new, unicode database soon. In order to import the newly exported database into a unicode system, do I have to start SAPInst, and install a unicode central instance?
Can someone please clarify this procedure for me? The Unicode Conversion Guide really didn't tell me much about this particular issue.
Thanks!
Regards,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
When export is completed (or even while export is running) you can start you target Unicode system installation but instead of default Export DVDs, you need to use the exported data.

Hi Kedar.
Do I have to uninstall the source system, and remove the source database? My fear is that the export has gone wrong in some way, and that the import will fail for some reason. If this happends, I will have to perform a new export... Which will be difficult without having to restore the source system again... a time consuming process.

Thomas
yes install the unicode CI and for Database use the Exported R3Load Data
