What subscription is needed for replication (via SDI) of HANA in SAP Cloud Platform with onprem DB?

Hi,

what license or subscription do I need to be able to use „Smart Data Integration" (SDI) between a HANA database-as-a-service of a SAP CP account and an onpremise database (eg. Microsoft SQL Server)?

Thanks,

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

SDI requires the DI Edition of SAP Cloud Platform Integration Services. This integration element can be licensed in one of four different ways:

1) SKU 8004739 / SAP Cloud Platform Integration Services, DI Edition: If your only integration requirements are for SDI, this may be a great option for you--however, it is a bit limited in the numbers of available connections (comes with 3; more can be added a la carte) and outbound bandwidth (comes with 10GB per month; again, more can be added a la carte).

2) SKU 8004741 / SAP Cloud Platform Integration Services, Enterprise Edition: This includes SDI, plus a variety of other integration services that can be of high value to the enterprise. It includes unlimited numbers of connections, support for any-to-any integration, and an allotment of 1TB of outbound bandwidth per month. Additionally, it includes API Mgmt (5MM API calls/month), PI Edition of Integr. Svcs; DI Edition, and Odata provisioning.

3) SKU 8000800 / SAP Cloud Platform Integration Services, Application Edition: This is often sold to Customers looking to enable integration strictly around a single SAP line-of-business SaaS solution (such as SuccessFactors, Concur, Ariba, Fieldglass, etc.), and includes DI Edition of Integration Services.

4) SKU 8004744 / SAP Cloud Platform Extension Package, Premium Edition: This 'pay by the user' solution (for extending SAP offerings such as SFSF, Hybris C4C, Ariba, Business Suite, S/4HANA, etc.) includes a set of SAP Cloud Platform services to 'power' the extensions--including DI Edition of Integration Services.

I realize this can look like a complex array of options. To simplify, the Customer needs DI Edition of Integration Services, and there are 4 ways to get that (including strictly on a standalone basis--the first option!).

Does this address your question? Thanks you Wolfgang & best regards, David Youker / Cloud Platform COE - NorthAm
