Hi,
Does anyone know how to set up the e-mail facility in SBO?
I have installed the mailer service. I have set the SMTP server as smtp.blueyonder.co.uk. I use this on my e-mail so I know that it works. I have set the database connection using the sa login and password (MS SQL Server).
Within SAP, I have set up e-mail for the company and for myself using a blueyonder e-mail address. I have set up other e-mail addresses for Business partners.
Windows event viewer is telling me that it can't connect to the SMTP server. This is probably true as I have not found anywhere to put in the password that would be required for access.
Does anyone have any idea where I'm going wrong?
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
Unfortunately the answer is that the SBO Mailer has no fields to store any authentication required by the SMTP service so it will only work if this service requires no authentication (eg local Exchange server or a permanent connection to an ISP that allows you to access their SMTP service without additional authentication).
One alternative is using the Outlook Integration add-on to send emails (there is a tick box at the bottom of the Send Message screen that says 'send via Outlook'). This way, emails from SBO are passed to your local Outlook client so any authentication issues are handled there and not in SBO.
Kind Regards,
Owen
