CDS Views - unable to transport 'DDL SQL View' to QA system

Hi there,

I recently started to create CDS Views in Eclipse in our development system - everything went smoothly, until I tried to transport to Quality system. The transport failed as the generated 'DDL SQL View' was missing from the transport.

I checked in DV, and indeed it was not assigned to any transport (even though in Eclipse I had assigned one, ans the View was correctly generated in ECC system). When I try to manually assign it to a transport in se80, I get the following message:

Object R3TR VIEW ZSD_CDS_VIEW1 is from a DDL source; no transports possible

I have not found any note that references this issue or any other posts with same issue.

Any ideas on how to assign DDL source/View to a transport, or how it should be created in Quality/Production systems?

Note: We are non-HANA system (MSSQL, which should be fine, according to documentation), running Netweaver 7.5 SP04.

thanks,

David

The 'DDL SQL View' is not a transport object.

You transport the DDL source (DDLS object).

If anything goes correctly, after import the respective artefacts (nametab entries, SQL views, ...) are generated from that.

Hi Horst,

great, thanks for your quick reply, I get it now.

Seems like there is an issue with the DDL Source, so it didn't activate correctly and didn't generate the SQL View in QA.

I will investigate further and resolve.

These are my first CDS Views, been reading some of your blogs during the week - great info, thanks alot!

Regards,
David
