Enhanced datasource -How to transport

Hi,

We have enhanced the Datasource 2LIS_05_QVUDN by adding two new fields AUFNR(order no) & MBLNR(Document No).

The request was transported to Test system, but the fields are not reflected in the Test system.

Im Txn RSA6 i captured the datasource again in a transport request , but still those two fields are not coming in test System.

IN BW ssytem, atleast we have transport connection where we can individually collect the required object.How to do this in R/3 System?

Hi Anita,

I don't know, which struc. of your 2LIS_05_QVUDN is being enchanced or appended the struc. see, you have 2 strcu. MCQALSX, MCQAVEX, what you are

suppose to do is, you need to choose either of these struc. and do 'Append Struc'.

save and activate, then delete the setup tables for this DS, come to LBWE,

from your appended struc. choose your fields and move them to left box..and

SAVE - During this time it would get capture into the TR, and then go the edit

DS next to it and deselect these fields from Hide and again SAVE, this time again

changes would get capture in the TR, then click on 'Activate' next to it..

that's all I suppose you need to do..every thing else would be available in your TR

Hi Pattan,

The steps you have mentioned is already done in Development system.It prompted for transport request & the same request was realeased in Quality.But those fields are not reflected .

Now i just want to capture the entire datasource & transport it to test.

Hi Anita,

I don't think that, you can capture entire DS, coz. you may have it existing in your

quality system too, so all you need to re-check is,

first check, whether you can see these changes capture in your TR by expanding

you TR tasks..and make sure..if every thing is o.k..yet..

you can have trail of delete your newly added fields by deleting your entire Append Struc.and redo the steps, and don't forget that, you are appending it to the DS but not the extract structure pls. be sure of it..and before you could transport from RSA6 open up your DS and double check whether these fields are avialbe in your DS as well as extract struc. I guess you are missing out of generating extract struc. some how..carefuly try..and it should work..

Hi Pattan,

In transport request I can see only Contents- TMCEXACT- 300MC05QV0UDN

This datasource already exists in test system , only two additional fields i ahve added .

Hi,

It looks you need a small program to update the table ROOSFILED of Quality system. For more detailed information about it and for the logic of program, just search the forms with teh term ROOSFILED.

Hi,

I removed the added field & added it again.it prompted me for the transport request.

now the changes are moved to test system but those fields are hidden.

But in development system, those fields are not marked as hide.

Hi Anita,

It happens, don't be panik, now, in your DEV system go to RSA6 and edit the

DS once again, and see that, your fields are no more under hidden, as you said

it is not, but still do this excersie again and put it in a TR request, pls. release all

your earlier TRs and capture this, and traport, it should be ok then..

Hi patan,

I dont know whats going on.Now the Short medium description is lost.

If i go to txn RSo2 & try to give the description , while saving again it gets lost.

yep..!!

Ur right..this is also expected..I guess you are trying to add fields which is of

without data elements is it not..? usually you'll get this prob. with 'z' fields

without data elements..nothing to worry..

Try creating data elements if they are not existing..

Hi Anita,

For your datasource goto se11 -> Data type -> MC05QV0UDN -> Goto (from menu) -> Object dir. entry -> assign the package and the transport request.

Hi Dinesh,

It works same like RSA6.The transport request captures Table content-TMCEXACT-300MC05QV0UDN .

But those fields are still not availbale in the test system.

HI,

You have added both fields in data source, can you see both fields in rsa6?

if you can see then you have to capture all related object in request.

and user exit also. Now you transport it and analies it.

Hi Anita,

To find the extract structure goto RSO2 or via RSA6 goto the edit datasource. You would have the extract struture name. Now goto se11 -> data elements -> enter the structure name and include in your request.

Hi Anita,

You have to capture all the objects that are related, for e,g, communication structure, extract structure and the data source.

Go to the maintenance of the data source and make sure that the "hide" option is unchecked. Regenerate the data source once again and transport the object to your test system.

Once transported replicate in BW and check whether the fields are now available or not.

Which trx code i need to use to capture extractstruure, & communictaion structure.

When i try to generate datasource in RSA6 it captures only the table TMCEXACT
