EC time off versus ESS/MSS

Hi all,

One of our customer wants to automize leave request processing. Customer is using SAP ERP for core functionality and SF Performance & Goals, Succession and Development modules for talent management processes. Thats why we are planning to use ESS/MSS for it and for further automization processes like ability to view payslips, enter time data and etc.

As far as I understand without implementing EC we are not able to use Time off functionality of SuccessFactors. Is EC time off functionality is able to cover complex time management functionalities ? What is the best practice in this case- to implement ESS/MSS or SF EC?

Best regards

EC "time off" is fairly basic at this time....and if you have some complex "time" config on-prem, it is really not going to "integrate" back into that. ESS/MSS leave/time off is very easy to get up and going.....and "time off" would not be a very good business justification for implementing all of EC.....EC is VERY nice but that should not be the only reason to implement....that is a bigger, strategic decision.

Thanks Christopher for reply. thats what i think too. For complex time issues SF advises Workforce which means additional implementation costs. probably we will keep implementing ESS/MSS
