NW2004S SR2 Developer Workspace Installation

Hi,

My NW2004S SR2 Developer Workplace installation on MSS(XP Pro) fails at the step 'Start Java Engine' with the error 'startJava was executed with status ERROR'.

The developer trace from the management console has the following error.

[Thr 3916] Fri Jan 26 19:57:42 2007

[Thr 3916] *** ERROR => JStartupIGetJDKInfo: Cannot find Java class file [./JdkDetection_2540.class]. [jstartxxi.c 994]

[Thr 3916] *** ERROR => can't get JDK information (rc = -1) [jstartxxi.c 1240]

There is a stderr4 in the work folder that says,

home\saploc\J2E\JC00\work'

CMD.EXE was started with the above path as the current directory.

UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows directory.

error: cannot read: ./JdkDetection_2540.java

I think I can fix the error by making the j-engine use C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\work as the current directory instead of UNC path, but don't know how.

Any ideas?
