Cants see Fields in UR,ODS.

Hi Community,

I am using standard ODS objects for Delivery Status Item and I am working in Dev there are no deltas running. Already this ODS contains data to other ODS and Info Cubes as well.

My requirement is changed like I want to see the Req delivery time and Confirmed Delivery time in the report.This fields are existing in InfoSource and data existing in PSA as well. But I cant see this two feilds in Update Rules as well as in ODS for enhancement.

Please tell me where is the problem.

Hello Robert,

Add the fields to your ODS, then be sure to go to the update rules and define how that field should update.

Should I need to take any particular steps to follow the mapping for Time characteristics in Update Rules.

I dont see any need for special care for mapping the time char's. Since the fields are already available in the infosource, a direct mapping to these source fields will do just fine. Please let me know if I am missing something here...

Hi Sudheer,

Before I start this process, I want to make sure whether I need to delete the data from all data targets including this ODS. Here this ODS is connected to one ODS and two data targets(total three data targets).

I want to make sure I need to delete the data from all four data targets and include this fields in all data targets.

It depends on the requirement. If you do not need the historical data for these two newly added fields, but are only interested in the values for these two fields going forward...I dont see why we have to delete the data.

On other hand, if you need these two fields to be populated for the historical data (data that is already existing in the data targets), then yes, dropping the data makes sense. If this is the case (I dont know how huge the volume is), drop the data in all data targets, add the two new fields to the ODS, map the fields in the update rules, load the data into ODS.

Now from this ODS you can do loads to the corresponding data targets (full loads) and then delete the existing init and re-initialize (if you want to load delta's).

Thanks sudheer my problem is almost solved, atlast I want to know like I need to add this two fields in all data targets or only its enough to add in ODS. Bcoz as I told you this ODS is going to other data targets......

If you want the values for these fields to be propogated to further data targets, the answer is YES. But if you just need to show these fields in the ODS you dont have to add them in further datatargets.
