Unable to assign set type to product category

Dear gurus,

We are unable to assign a set type to product category. By default system shows 'Global trade item' and 'basic text' as assigned. When we try to add another one the drop down of set types does not show some standard set types like the one related to units of measure.

With this setting when we try to replicate R/3 material master data, we get error messages, "Data for set type comm_pr_unit cannot be maintained".

Has anyone seen this error before. Is it because the set type is not assigned to product category. If so, how to get it in the drop down so that we can do the required assignment. Please help.

Hi Krishna,

When we make a initia load of master data the standard set type R3prodhier wil be available in crm which contain all the basic set types assigned.

Caution :All standard set types can be assigned to one product category if it is assigned to other product category it wont be available in search help.

So check it out in your case whetehr u r using standard category or not and the assigned set types with other product category.
