Hi Pri,

I came across an Esker installation connected to R/3 4.6 and then upgraded on ECC6.

The installation is used to print out, fax and email content to customers, suppliers and employees.

In SAP Esker is configured as a printer. The software analyses fixed fields to decide whether the printout should be faxed, mailed or printed. The receiver is also determined by information on the printout like Faxnumber or emailadress. Therefore no master data needs to be configured on the Esker Deliveryware. Also No additional data needs to be passed through. There is no result feedback (faxprotocol or emailconfirmation) in that installation (I have no idea if that would be possible).

The integration is reliable and seems to work well, but I have seen more sophisticated solutions including feedback to SAP. I do not know if feedback of that kind is possible in SAP using Esker.

Although the upgraded ECC6 was unicode converted, and the installation was moved from a UNIX to a Windows64 platform, the inteface did not create any issues to be solved.

After all, judging from that one installation that I have seen, it is a reliable, (after installation) free of maintenance interface, but (at least in that installation) not offering the tracebility that I like to see.

Cheers

Markus

Markus, thx for sharing the infor.

Yes, I did come across of this tool widely being used in the U.S. Also I heard that it can also create sales orders from picking master data from SAP & also has workflow.

Any idea if it can also be used for creating deliveries & invoices?

Can you share more on your below statement?

What do you wish to see by,

but (at least in that installation) not offering the tracebility that I like to see.

Just eager to know, if Netweaver ( with CRM & SCM) can help in the same way as the 3rd part tools to help automate the Order Management process?

Any idea?

Thx
