The EAN category in the material master basic data 1 view defines the length of the EAN and whether a check digit is used. From SPRO go to Logistics General - Material Master - Settings for key Fields - International Article Numbers. From there you can define the number ranges and the attributes of EAN/UPC numbers.

      Hi,

If for 11 digit EAN, i need to create a seperate EAN category, if for 12 digit EAN, again i need to create for separate EAN , category,But with one EAN category , user wants to enter any digit like 1 or 2 or 10 or 11 etc, please suggest me.

So if I understand what you are saying you want to be able to enter any number in that field, not one with a fixed length. If that's the case then you need to set up a custom EAN category and reference a number range that includes the range of numbers you want to enter and make sure the check digit algorithm indicator is blank. You're getting the error because the EAN category you are using has a value for calculating a check digit. Just to be clear, EAN numbers are generally used to capture numbers that conform to a specific standard format. For example UPC codes where the first 5 digits identify a manufacturer followed by 5 digits that represent the product and pack.
