Hi Experts,

I was wondering whether we can use CSS style sheet for creating Bar charts and Pie charts in a Glossy or shiny style in SAP Design studio. I know we can do it in Webi reports by selecting Bar effects as Glossy for bar and other charts but not sure in Design studio.

I tried to search lot on scn and online but no luck.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Sandeep,

You should explore the chart CSS classes to find the appropriate ones to override, as per the technique described in the following post:

https://blogs.sap.com/2014/05/11/how-to-find-and-change-the-css-class-design-studio/

You may also find the following blogs useful for learning about CSS techniques:

All of that being said, can you clarify the business requirement for applying a glossy or shiny finish to charts? This is not a best practice and does not add any value for interpreting the information.

Mustafa.

Hi Mustafa,

I strongly agree with what you are saying. What I believe is that shiny charts are just a noise.

We are trying to do a POC for dashboard and needs to make it bit colourful.

Thanks

Sandeep

Sandeep,

You can still make the charts "colourful" without adding effects :) Even if you are conducting a POC I would suggest that focusing on effectively presenting the data is more important than applying gloss :)
