BI Security and Authorization

In order to evaluate going to NW2004S from BW3.0 ......I am still not clear on a few things with regards to the authorizations in NW2004S - BI and therefore I need some advise.

I have read as much information as I could find on SAP help and SDN.

1. From what I understand so far, this migration is only for the Reporting

auths and nothing new for working with the other previously created Admin Workbech Roles ?

2.Inorder to continue to maintain the other Roles, do I still use the PFCG

and the other Auth Objects that I have used so far ? Do I still assign them

the same old way?

3.What about the Special Char 0TCAVALID, OTCAACTVT etc , would these have

nothing to do with the other previously created Backend Roles ?

4. How should I evaluate my upgrade options for keeping the current security

Model as is , Migrating to new concept now or converting later ?
