Change of gl mapping of withholding tax code

HI ,

Our end user want to change the GL attached to a with holding tax code . Is it advisable to doo the same in sap . If not should I create new tax code .

I am new to FICO .

You Can Change the GL Account for the Existing Tax Code.

The affect is Prospective and not retrospective.

For new Posting New GL will be applicable.

Hi Shikha,

Why do you want to change the GL account? If it is wrongly assigned, then do changes as advised by Mr.Hemant. In this case no need to create new w.h.tax code.

Hemanth I searched but unfourtunately didnt find, may be didnt searched enough . However my question was more towards whether it is advisiable to change the GL of with holding tax codes which is already in use and not how to do it.Basically to know best practice in business.

However I decided to create new witholding tax code instead of changing the gl as to avoid any audit queries related to sudden change of GL .

Dear Shikha singh chauhan,

Please search the forum prior to posting. You may find at least a single thread related to your scenario.

However , you can change the G/l account adhered to withholding tax code and withholding tax type in OBWW. Before that , make sure whether you need to transfer the balance of old g/l account to new g/l account or not.
