Purchase Order Release Strategy

Dear All,

I have a requirement where for

Rs.1/- to Rs.1000/- of PO Value I have 2 level of release strategy and for

Rs.1001/- to Rs.10,000/- I have 3 level of release strategy and for

Rs.10,001/- to Rs.20,000/- I have 4 level release strategy.

Now user created a PO with Rs.10,000/- value and as per the above scenario, it will go to the 3 level release strategy. Now I changed the PO Value from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.10,005/- as per the SAP Standard it will go to the 4 level of release strategy. But the approver saying he/she already approved Rs.10,000/- the variation is only Rs.5/- it should go to the 2 level release strategy not 4 level release strategy.

.I know it is standard behavior can we handle this scenario through enhancement.

Kindly note that we also have version management activated for PO

Dear Jafar,

First of all it is not possible and even not logical to do it with complex enhancement either. So you are requested to not consider this requirement, as you either have to be in release strategy level 3 or 4, once it's increase form 10000, it will automatically fall in release strategy rule 4.

No, a release of the difference is not possible and does not make any sense either.

As the value has changed the approval of your 3 level strategy became obsolete, it is like wiping out a signature.

You could have totally different users in your 4 level strategy, and they would never know about a PO with a high value if your users could workaround with releasing only the difference portion at lower value levels.
