Hi Leon,

I will try to explain the best I can.

How do we assign the SAP add-ons to my database? What are the main steps?

After creating your installer, if you used the AddOnRegDataGen to create your .ard file, you should register your add-on using "Register add-on" and set your .ard file there. The add-on will be registered on SAP and also assigned to the company you are using.

In case you have more companies, your add-on will be already registered, but not assigned, which means that you can use them as long you had assigned them first.

When registering them you have an option "Install as part of registration" if you check this, you will register and install the add-on if you don`t check, you will need to install it on the "Add-on manager" (Administration --> Add-ons --> Add-on manager --> Pending add-ons tab)

After that, it depends how you configured their initialization, if it is manual, you will find your add-on to start on "Add-on manager" again (Administration --> Add-ons --> Add-on manager --> Installed add-ons tab). If it is automatic it start right after you connect to your company.

It should cover some of your doubts.

If you are using the Extension Manager, here is some reference

Hi, Danilo

Thanks again.

The problem is driving me crazy, especially as in the past, I have been able to create .ard successfully and install it in SAP.

So, I think I would rather call my SAP Partner to investigate the problem.

Best Regards

Leon

Hi,

On the left, the add-ons are available, it doesn`t mean that it is assigned to your database, they can either be assigned for other database or none database.

The second part, it is a little bit hard to answer, how did you create your installer?

Sometimes it is just restart SAP, and your add-on will be installed. You should also check if the add-on is started or enabled/disable per user on the "User preferences" tab.

Hi, Danilo

Thanks for your answer.

I wish to deal with the SAP add-ons first, before dealing with my real problem. I understand it's too vague a question.

How do we assign the SAP add-ons to my database? What are the main steps?

Best Regards,

Leon
