CMS- Import running for ever

Hi

I'm fighting with NWDI set up for sometime.

We are on EP 7.0 (Java WAS 7.0 SP9 of NW2004s).

I created a track for ESS customization, added the SC and the Required SC in the Landscape configurator of CMS. I also specified the Run time systems.

In the transport studio of Import, I'm trying to check in the components, it runs for ever. I closed the process and when I log back in to CMS I still see the status Import running.

Can anyone please help me what could be wrong here.

I would like to delete the tack and start over again, but I''m not sure if it has already created any workspace in DTR and CBS.

Thanks for your help

and please do let me know if I need to provide more information.

thanks again

Luke

Please try importing one by one. Also you can check logs in the server under <your CMS dir>/logs/

      Hi Luke,

for SAP_ESS sources you should check the details of the import in CMS. If you start with a new empty track and import only SAP_ESS you should see a successful DTR import (can take some time). After the import you should see in CBS WebUI a number x of DCs in the ESS compartment and the same number as "broken DCs". (They are broken until you import all the archives and CBS has built everything. There was a PDF posted in the Application Server/Java area "CBS Secrets Unveiled - Understanding Broken and Dirty DCs" that explains very detailed why this is so).

After starting the import of the BUILDT archives I would ignore CMS for a while and check directly in the CBS WebUI that CBS processes a lot of requests to actually build all the DCs. Building ESS may also take some time and CMS does not report any progress, but on CBS you should see a decreasing number of broken DCs.

To delete a workspace: the DTR command line tool is part of the NWDS installation. In 7.00SP10 you can find it in either eclipse/tools/dtr or eclipse/plugins/com.tssap.dtr.client.vfs. You need to edit some settings in the batch files to get started, then start the dtrshell.bat and do a "help commands". There's a command ("deleteworkspace" if I remember correctly) that does just what you want.

    Hi Luke,

I have faced a similar problem while importing Java components. It so happened that while we were importing the components, the server had a problem and someone had stopped and restarted the server.

This doesn't get reflected on the CMS and the status of the imports showed "Import Running" for a very long time. You will find an icon called "Unlock selected components" on the CMS screen.Select all the components(whose status has been running for a long time) and click this icon. The status of the imports gets changed to "Waiting for import".You can then try importing the components again.

    Regards,

    Shalini
