Delete CIM Data

Former Member

Hi...

Recently I moved a QA sys to a new SLD as a practice to later moving PROD to a completely independent SLD... All of that worked fine...

Now I need to change everything back so that the new SLD is literally just sitting there as if it had just been setup with no systems pointing to it etc.. could yo let me know how to do this?

Particularly I am interested in how to delete the CIM data... I dont want to go and do it individually as this is impracticle... is there a way to do a mass deletion?

Hi Thank you people...

Just refering to Jin's post... this sounds like the best option... so just to clarify this will put the SLD back into a state as if it had just been installed so no CIM Data on it at all?

Also by removing this namespace it wont mess up the SLD? The namespace will still remain but all of the content will be gone is this correct?

Hi Alex -

>>>so just to clarify this will put the SLD back into a state as if it had just been installed so no CIM Data on it at all?

Yes, that's correct. You'll have to perform the steps as mentioned in Note 669669 to build up sld/active again (e.g. importing the cimsap model and SAP CR content).

>>>Also by removing this namespace it wont mess up the SLD? The namespace will still remain but all of the content will be gone is this correct?

Yes, that's correct - won't mess up the SLD. Since sld/active is the main/default namespace, it will automatically get recreated upon removal. You would have to recreate other namespaces manually (if removed), but it doesn't sound like you created any other sld namespaces.

Normally, before removing sld/active, you would perform a full backup (e.g. via export/backup). But it doesn't sound like there's anything you want to keep here.

You can also check Note 991936 for related information.

Hi Alex -

If you're really looking to start from a "clean slate", then the easiest way is to delete the namespace sld/active (the default namespace). This will delete all the objects within the sld/active namespace which is where your objects should be in.

Goto your "new" SLD then: Administration->Namespaces->Remove sld/active

Again, this is a complete reset of your SLD (as far as objects are concerned). FYI, sld/active namespace will still be there since this is the default.

Alex,

Go to http://hostname:port/sld/admin/index.jsp. click on Maintenance. Then in the dropdown box of Subset select all the classes. Then in the class drop down box select the integration repository. Then you see your integraiton repository. If you want to remove then click on remove. The same you can do for directory as well.

I personally dont recommend. But just make sure that this is what you want.
