mapping datasource fields

can anybody tell me how to map the fields in replicated generic datasource to the infobjects so as to create transformation

Hi,

You have to use Drag and drop method to complete the mapping between Datasource field and Datatarget field. I donot think that there is an other alternative through whivh we can do this in a less time compare to above one.

Hi,

Let me get a confirmation for you. Are you working on version 7 with Transformations? or are you working with OLD concept of Loading by using Transfer rules and Update rules?

I think you are working on TR and UR (I assume because u posted in Business Content and Extractors Forum).

1) Replicate the Data source from the source system .Right click on Source system and select 'Replicate data sources'

2) Create the Infosource (3.x) with almost same structure as Datasource.

3) Right click on the Info source select "Create Transfer Rules"

4) Mention the source system and select your newly replicated Datasouorce.

5) Complte the mappings: by selecting info object in left hand side and selecting Datasource field in right hand screen and click on " <-- " button.

Like this complete mapping for all Info objects.

6) complte the update rules between cube and Info source
