Physical Inventory of Handling Units in WM

Former Member

Hi all

We are implementing SAP WMS with Handling Unit management for our warehouses.

The physical inventory process currently involves counting the individual cartons on the pallets. In our packaging process, each carton is considered as a HU and a pallet as an outer HU. But in this case, as the WMS recognizes the outer most HU as a storage unit and physical count is initated for the outer most HU and will ask to count just the pallets and not the cartons on it.

This process somehow is not very convincing to the business process owners as they still want to have a carton count. I would like to know your views in this regard and if you have come across a similar situation then how did you resolve this.

Regards

Baseer

hi guys

I met this problem same with you

but i did not use nested Handling Unit. so there are no outer HU,so we count the HU quantity directly. but you know still it has problem that difficult to count the quantity when the carton is very small. it is mean that there will be a lot of cartons in the pallet, and the which in the middle we can not found the HU number

hope some peoples can give some better suggestion

Hi Baseer ,

when you create a physical inventory document using transaction MI01 , you get a alternative unit indicator , uncheck that indicator and then create the physical inventory document.

try this and tell me if it works

Hi Baseer,

Check transactions LS26 and MB52.

Reward points if they helps.
