Reservation for rental items

Hi experts

I'm currently having an issue regarding material reservation for sales orders. I have searhced all over, but can't quite figure out the correct solution. My job mainly consists of making orders by using VA01, for different materials avaible for rental by our costumers. My issue is that currently SAP blocks the material for any rental, prior to an already created sales order.

E.g.

Today is May 4th and I create an sales order for May 25th, with a return order on May 27th. Tomorrow I want to create an order for the same material on May 12th with return May 18th, but can't since the material reserved by the order on May 25 - 27 (and plus RTL of one day). How can I change this setting? I do not have authentication for MMBE, but would still like information I can pass along.

This seems very easy to fix but since I have only worked with SAP for 4 weeks with no training, please excuse my ignorance.

As Juergen pointed out, this question needs to be directed at your local SAP support team. We can't really know what exactly is the configuration in your system and whether any customizations have been made. Ask your manager or some kind of "power user" / SME.

Don't you have a local IT support who can train end users, or key users who can instruct you?

Are there any messages? what does CO09 tell you about the ATP situation? MMBE is not really relevant , it is just a stock overview with the current stock situation.
