Object authorization (0costcenter) - Problem with Hierarquy

Former Member

We have created an authorization object based on the 0costcenter. And all the functions have been created with the range of the cost centers for each business unit. so for example for business unit 1000, i would have cost center range from 4000000...4099999. This works well as long as I don't use hierarquies in my selection screen.
When we use hierarquy it says the result is:
You do not have authorization to read object Z_0CCENTER ''
but if we change the range the cost center range in the function to * it works fine, if we change the range to 0...999999999, we get the same error.
Can anyone please let me know how to work this situation out.
Thanks!!!

Hi

In the costcenter number range in R/3 see what are the allowed values and use only those values.....this is interrelated with some other enterprise assignment also.....so try to giv only that number range and find whether it is working

Assign points if useful

Hello N Gamesh,

Thanks for the tip. I've looked into our R/3 system and confirmed that we are only the appropriate number ranges. What I find strange is that the authorization object works fine when we are not using hierarquies, but when we use hierarquies, the only condition it works is when the user has full access (*), even if we specify the full number range (4000000....49999999) the system returns the error. Is there something we have to do in order to make the hierarquy correctly use the authorization object?

Apreciate any further feedback you can give me on this matter.

Kind Regards,

Alex

Paolo / N Gamesh,

Thanks for the document link. It is being very helpful, seems I have identified my problem.

I'm recreating the authorization object including the 0TCTAUTHH object which wasn't activated, seems that may have been the problem. I should finish these tests today.

As soon as I finish the tests (hopefully all will be Ok), I'll be rewarding the full points.

Thanks again for your quick replies!!!!

Kind Regards,

Paolo / N Gamesh,

Thanks for your input in this problem. We have solved the problem by activating the 0TCTAUTHH info-object and included the correct permissions for the hierarchies in the RSSM transaction.

Points have been awarded.

C-you in my next post or one of yours if I can help. 🐵

Kind Regards,

Alex
