XI or PI?

Hi,

when is it valid to change the name of your XI to PI? Does Netweaver 2004s incorporate PI or is it still XI?

PI is used in NW2004s.

So, if you have NW2004s, you'll be installing PI.

Hi,

PI 7.0 is a part of Netweaver 2004s and XI3.0 is a part of Netweaver 2004.

The change in name was due to the change inWAS version to 7.0 from 6.4.

Now all the components in Netweaver 2004s will be based on WAS 7.0 and hence version 7.0

Process Integration PI 7.0 is a part of Nw2004s while XI 3.0 is a part of Nw2004.

Also, PI runs on a WAS7.0 and XI on a WAS 6.4. Every feature of PI7.0 is so far being supported by XI 3.0 and every Patch of Pi has a corresponding equiavlent on XI 3.0.
