Can anybody please tell me the difference between time constraint 1 and A?

because these are confusing me.

I think its pretty straight forward.... but I will write it for you:

A : exist only once from 01.01.1800 until 31.12.9999 so you cannot have multiple record (for instance IT0003). It only make sense to have on record with the date your payroll has been calculated up to... so one single record ... <"timeless"> that represent the state of an employee for a process.

1 : accept multiple records but no overlapping; over the time you can change org. assignment (IT0001); that is up to now you have been a regular employee; but from next month on you are a manager.... from this point of view you cannot be at the same time a regular employee and a manager but also it is necessary to keep trace that before being a manager you were in fact an employee and when... thus this could not be achieved with A so multiple record no overlapping.
