Functional perspective of OS/DB Migration

Hi,

My Client is making an Operating system change from Windows to Unix and also upgrading the Oracle Operating System.The SAP Version remains same.

SAP version is 4.7

Please,please list in details the various points to take care from Functional point of view and mainly in SD and MM.?

I searched in market place and read about the OS/DB documentation but found that it gave mostly the technnical details. I do understand its more of a technical work. But please let me know from functional point of view what are the very important things to take care of??

And also let me know the time frame for performing the testing??

Impact on SAP.......some times after database upgrade you are not able to post certain document the reason is updates take time and then timeout, some time your transaction get slower because the Indexing has been changed etc.
